Grad GalaThe life of a student isn’t easy. It’s not easy pouring your heart and soul into learning -- partly for its own sake and partly for rewards that are a little ill-defined and often just a promise of something more, further down life’s path. Of course, there’s an upside too: the rush of discovery; the realization that your own expanding thoughts and opinions are valued. And then, there are the people. Those good friends who make the journey with you.
Graduation is a time to celebrate your time at UBC, the people who got you through and the amazing adventure that lies ahead. Alumni Relations gets that. We recognize your efforts and accomplishments and invite you and your friends to an event that honours all you’ve done and all that you will do as you join the ranks of over 250,000 UBC grads worldwide: the annual Grad Gala.
Grad Gala is a tribute to UBC's Okanagan campus graduating class. Made possible through funding and volunteer support from faculties and departments across campus, it is a tremendously popular event that gives you a place to mark your time at UBC with a party you will always remember.

A: Absolutely. You can actually bring more than one if you want – tickets are on a first-come/first-served basis. Just make sure anyone attending is paid for ($25 per person).
A: If you purchase tickets online, you have them immediately – you get a receipt of purchase from the site. There are no physical paper tickets. At the event there will be a list of purchasers from the online-ticket-purchase site.
A: We appreciate that not everyone can purchase tickets online. If you need to buy yours the old-fashioned way -- with cash -- tickets will be on sale in the Courtyard March 29 to 31 and April 1, 6 and 7 from 12 noon to 2 pm. You can also contact Erica Triggs in Alumni & Community Relations to make alternate arrangements.
A: There are no real restrictions on who can attend the event – provided they are a ‘guest’ of a grad.
A: No! Any UBC student, from any faculty, is welcome to attend.
A: Yes, Grad Gala is an all ages event, you just won’t be able to drink. Government-issued photo ID proving you are 19+ will be required to purchase drinks from the bar.
