Supporting UBC Okanagan Athletics
Student athletes have long been a source of pride for both campuses of the University of British Columbia, combining unmatched academic and athletic excellence to produce some our community’s finest citizens.
In 2007/2008, UBC Okanagan student athletes captured four provincial medals and one provincial championship (men’s volleyball - Gold, men’s basketball and women's volleyball– Silver, and women’s basketball – bronze. Further, both the men’s and women's volleyball and men's basketball went on to represent UBC Okanagan and the Province of BC at the CCAA National Championships. Men's volleyball were successful in capturing silver and women's volleyball captured bronze.
Our student athletes are successful in the classroom as well. In 2007/8, eleven Heat athletes received recognition as National Scholar Athletes and fourwere named Academic All-Canadians.
UBC Okanagan is a new campus and is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of its growing student population. We are committed to ensuring that our students have the opportunity to excel in both academics and athletics. By partnering together with supporters and the community, we will succeed in building exceptional facilities and programs for students at UBC Okanagan.
