Bailey Radley ready to contribute

Bailey Radley is a great cheerleader. Due to an unfortunate knee injury early in her grade twelve year,
Radley, captain of the Kelowna Secondary School (KSS) Owls Senior girls basketball team, had to watch her team go all the way to the AAA provincial finals before losing to the Brookswood Bobcats, who won their third consecutive title. Radley then decided to go on to play for Women’s Basketball Coach Heather Semeniuk while taking classes at UBC Okanagan. Bailey Radley - Kelowna Owls

Because her knee was not fully healed from the surgery, Radley decided to take the year off to recover, but not lose any of her eligibility in the BCCAA by practicing with the team as a red shirt. Coach Semeniuk wanted Radley to get as much feel for the league as possible by making her the team manager and having her travel with the team. That put Bailey on the bench again cheering on her teammates during the Lakers BCCAA Championship and right through to the team’s fourth-place finish at the CCAA Nationals.

Prior to her start with the Okanagan Lakers, Radley had played for Coach Harry Parmar for three years - having joined the senior team in grade ten. Coach Parmar says that having Radley join the team alone makes Coach Semeniuk’s recruiting year a successful one. Coach Semeniuk agrees stating that Radley will be a huge asset to the Lakers, as well as in the league.
