Game Recap:
It was a slow start for the UBC Okanagan Heat. After tangling with Vancouver rush hour traffic for over an hour, the Heat ended up arriving just in time for warm-up. The Kwantlen Eagles were able to capitalize on the Heat's short warm-up with some hot shooting, hitting their first three 3 point field goals to go up 20-8. The Heat finished the quarter down 24-18. In the 2nd quarter the Heat were able to get their minds and their bodies into the game. Fourth year guard Jenna Kantz caught fire, hitting three 3 pointers. The Heat were able to really clamp down on defense, holding the Eagles to 5 points in the second quarter. At the half time break the Heat had claimed a 33 - 29 lead. The third quarter saw the game turn to a back and forth sparring match, but the Heat held serve to the tune of 48 - 40. In the fourth quarter the Heat stymied Kwantlen and the ladies from UBC Okanagan were able to finish the Eagles off 62 - 49.
