Lakers Fail To Get Wins For Playoffs Despite Effort  as the Lakers Lose Upset in Prince George at UNBC

The Lady Lakers are now out of playoff contention after some tough losses on the road last weekend. Looking to avenge similar defeats on the Thanksgiving weekend, both TRU and UNBC (through an upset) denied the Lakers any points going into the last weekend of season play. The Lakers now look for wins to head out of league play on a strong note, which should prove to be a challenge in and of itself. Malaspina visits on Saturday, October 20th , while Capilano will be here on Sunday the 21st. Both teams are sure bets to come out strong, and with the Lakers hungry for a win, should provide for a very entertaining weekend of soccer.

Comments from Head Coach Peter Rochfort

The final score in the game could’ve easily been 5 - 0 for us. We took an early lead, but UNBC held on. In the second half we had nearly 30 chances, including 7 breakaways that produced no goals. UNBC only had 3, yet the produced 2 goals out of it, so credit is definitely due to UNBC. They hung around and definitely improved over the last time we met. Defender Vanessa Hodak supplied our only goal after sneaking up in the play to get it by the keeper.
