Comments: Okanagan Lakers vs Douglas College

WOMEN’S SOCCER CO-COACH, Kristi Egilsson:

WOW! The Lakers have proven to the Coast that they can play this game and compete at a high level which are precisely the comments made by the Douglas coaching staff. Despite being scored on in the first 45 seconds of the game, a mirror of the game played the day before; the Lakers battled back and played a brilliant game. They passed well, challenged hard and maintained ample communication throughout the 90 minutes. Our first goal was scored by Emma Nixon, 12 minutes in, Ashley Pereira WSOCon a half-volley from a cross from Maria Renouf. These two players were key components in the game as Nixon scored the third marker off a brilliant corner from Tara Reszitnyk. Renouf assisted the other two goals, one to Natascha Whitty and the game winner from Leticia Vecchio. Again, amazing performance from the Okanagan Lakers.

Veteran Ashley Pereira had a fantastic game, controlling the midfield.
