Women’s Results

Date: Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008

Sport: Women's Soccer

Opponent: Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Wolfpack

Location: Kelowna, B.C.
Half time score: TRU 2 - UBC Okanagan 0
Final score: TRU 3 - UBC Okanagan 0

UBC O dropped their second home game of the weekend as they lost 3-0 vs second place TRU. The second meeting of the teams was a much better outing for the UBC O HEAT Women’s soccer program. UBC O created numerous opportunities in the 15 minutes but could not buy a goal. TRU bent but they did not break and responded with 2 goals of their own before the half time whistle. Second half UBC O attempted to rally back into the game and again created some optimal goal scoring opportunities that weren't capitalized on. By the end of the match TRU walked away with the 3-0 win. Sabrina Gasparac was our Player of the Game.

Claire Patterson thought her team did a lot of things right today and demonstrated that they can play with the top teams. The Heat created some fantastic opportunities to get ahead early in the match and if they had done so it could have been a completely different result. The Women are definitely going in the right direction; now they need to put the critical piece of the puzzle into place and start scoring some goals.
