Location: Coeur D'Alene, Idaho

Coach Claire Paterson's Comments:

It was a fast-paced aggressive Walla Walla team and our progress struggled a bit to adjust to the pace of the game.  Walla Walla created some difficulties for us from the kick off as the first ten minutes of our game plan was not executed, creating some problems for ourselves.  Walla Walla broke through and caught our goalkeeper out of position scoring at the 28 minute.  Less than ten minutes later a poor goalkeeper allowed the Walla Walla striker to capitalize once again.  Changes in personnel occurred at half for UBC Okanagan and we caused the Walla Walla team some problems getting in deep into the attacking third but we were unable to capitalize on the few chances created.  An unfortunate touch by one of our defenders teed up the ball at the top of the 18 for the Walla Walla player to get their third and final goal.

Player Emma Nixon's Comments:

The game against Walla Walla Community College was definitely an eye-opener.  Right from the opening kickoff the game was packed with high intensity and the aggressive play.  It was obvious in the first half that this was a level of play we weren't used to as simple things like passing, talking and goal scoring were not a success for us and we were constantly being beaten to the ball.  The second half was better as we began to adapt to the level of play as the game proceeded.  Overall, it wasn't the greatest team performance but definitely showed the potential our team has especially seeing how quick we adapted.  Also, in having the opporunity to play a team of this level, it benefits us as we came from it and learned and gained tons of experience.
