Women Third in Canada

After winning silver in provincials only 2 weeks previous, the Lakers women’s volleyball team earned the bronze at this year’s CCAA national volleyball championships.

The event, which was held at Mount Royal College in Calgary, opened for the Lakers on the upswing. Being in the middle of the pack, the 5th-seeded Lakers faced the 4thplace Humber College Hawks, a match that on paper looked to favor the more experienced Hawks. However, the Lakers blasted out of the gates in claiming a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-20) victory. According to Lakers Head Coach Steve Manuel, the energy and determination of the young Laker squad saw them through
