Box Score

Sat. Jan. 26, 2008 Okanagan Lakers vs University College of the Fraser Valley Cascade:

Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Steve Manuel:

It was an emotionally charged day, our last home match of the season and Tammy Thomas’ final home match of her career. But as always, Tammy did not disappoint and put on an impressive display on the court. Tammy served lights out, tallying 6 aces and swinging for 17 kills. Kailey Buller was a close second in the scoring department with 19 kills and 3 stuff blocks. Caitlyn Nyhus did a great job executing the game plan from the setting position and Rebecca Warnes was outstanding on defense with 18 digs.

Women’s Volleyball Student-Athlete Kailey Buller:

Even before the match started the energy level on our team was higher than usual in anticipation of Tammy’s final home match. I definitely think that we capitalized on that energy and came out really strong right from the start. We played as a unit and did not allow UCFV to and chances to gain momentum. I think all of our players can be happy with that performance in what will be the final match ever played at home by the “Lakers” volleyball team.
