Head Coach, Steve Manuel’s comments:

I am very happy with how we played tonight, our team play was at it’s best to this point of the season. Emily Browne was great on the leftside for us with 11 kills, 8 digs and passed very well. Tammy Thomas led all scorers with 13 kills 2 aces and 2 stuff blocks. Our middles came to play as well and Caitlin Nyhus found them on a regular basis. Rookie Sara Zaytsoff was good for 11 kills and 2 blocks while Rebecca Warnes added 7 kills, 2 blocks and 9 digs. Libero Erin Kolmatycki in her first league match in a Lakers uniform was great passing at 2.5 and chipping in 13 digs.

Player of the match comments, Emily Browne:

Tonight’s match against CBC was a solidly played match by UBCO. We played very well as a team, and our serve receive passing and digging was very strong. During the 2nd set, we found ourselves in a hole and the game slipped away from us. We ended up losing but in the third and fourth sets we came back with a vengeance. Caitlin Nyhus started out by serving thirteen serves in a row in the 3rd set. It was a fun game and our communication and overall team play was excellent.
