The microbiology program is designed to provide graduates with a breadth of knowledge in microbiology as it applies to the environment, health, and industry. At the same time, it will allow the student to concentrate in one of these three areas. Students graduating from UBC Okanagan with a B.Sc. in Microbiology will have developed a wide-range of lab, communication, critical thinking, and writing skills. The program will prepare students for careers in microbiology, such as food and beverage industries, health sciences, and environmental sciences. It will also prepare the student for graduate school and professional programs such as medicine and dentistry.
