RESEARCH: Women with high densities of fibroglandular tissue within their breasts are at a significantly higher risk of developing breast cancer within their lifetime. Currently, breast density estimation is not performed during routine mammogram screenings due to time and cost constraints of skilled medical personnel. My research focuses on creating a reliable and completed automated software algorithm to compute breast density from diagnostic-grade digital mammogram images.
