Research Interests: My research focuses on cross-cultural media performance, media for social change and computational poetics. Research Interests: Photography, Tourism and the Fabricated Experience
My creative work that centers on the role and meaning of the camera in shaping and directing touristic activities, and fabricated and commodified offerings that are photographed and consumed at the site and the meanings inherent in the resulting image. Panorama Peaks - My second area of interest is in documenting urban development in the Okanagan Valley. The wood industry, environmental issues, resulting social ramifications and visual panoramas are all aspects of concern in the work, which is tracking the birth of the Panorama Peaks subdivision. I began photographing this area from its birth in 2002 when I first saw a sign announcing the development in a clearing of the woods near my home. It is an on going project.
