Artist's statement:
In my work architectonic forms and their sculptural iconography are the foundation for
developing pictorial systems of vertical composition and spatial geometry. This spatial
juxtaposition allows for further explorations and relationship of interior and exterior spaces.
The primary image designs are constructed from entrance and window motives, with which
I set the stage for a pictorial play, unique to every viewer’s perception. The mixed media
approach to my hand-pulled printed images demand theoretical, practical and technical
knowledge to execute a final work. Drawing, model making, photographic post development
controls, digital imaging, various forms of “non-toxic intaglio “ and other printmaking
procedures, relief-plate-making, ink modifications, color roll up and paper -preparation.
Most importantly, methods and techniques are determined by the inherent creative process
and relative image content. At present I am focusing on combining the Colograph medium
with self generated photographic Imagery which I digitally reconfigure. These images are
than prepared for transparent film output and bonded together onto polycarbonate (Lexan)
plates with a polymer film called “ImagOn” for a “ n o n - t o x i c “ intaglio method. These
procedures simultaneously also make use of various other essential traditional printmaking
procedures and techniques towards a hand pulled limited edition.
