 Margaret Reeves

Margaret Reeves earned a B.A.(Hons) and M.A. in English Literature at York University, and received her Ph.D. in English at the University of Toronto in 2004. While doing doctoral studies at the U of T she also completed the University of Toronto’s Collaborative Graduate Program in Women’s Studies. Dr. Reeves taught full-time at York University in English and Humanities before joining the faculty at UBCO in 2007. Her research on political discourse in early modern women’s prose narratives is informed by her interests in the relationship between literature and politics in seventeenth-century England and in the social semiotics of early modern satire.

In 2010-2011, she will be teaching courses on writing, Milton and seventeenth-century politics, and on children's literature and culture at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
