There is currently no Cultural Studies-dedicated graduate program at UBC Okanagan. Students who are interested in pursuing an MA or a PhD with a Cultural Studies focus do so within the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies (IGS) Program. The IGS program allows students to develop multi and inter-disciplinary course and research programs to suit their interests. Graduate students who work within the Department of Critical Studies must complete core courses in Critical Theory and Cultural Theory, so it is easy to shape an IGS graduate degree with a Cultural Studies focus.
Currently there are number of graduate students completing projects from a cultural studies perspective; for example:
Representations of evil and suffering in the context of the “war on terror”
Life-writing of former child soldiers in Africa
Salman Rushdie and identity politics
