Permaculture Vision Walk at UBC, Kelowna Campus, August 23rd, 2010:
A small group of Okanagan experts on permaculture and students and faculty from the UBCOrchard and Farm Coop and from the student group Real Food Group took a walk through campus to discuss possibilities for permaculture on campus. The campus has a rich, natural biodiversity, that needs to be preserved and enhanced. Marmites, coyotes, bears on the side of Roberts Lake, and in one of the photos, a picture of what we believe is a great-horned owl, well camouflaged. The pond is where the owls make their home. If you should find an owl walking on the earth, it is likely under a year old, and prone to walking since it can’t fly. It will climb up the tree all by itself, so no need to disturb it. The people in one of the photos are: Elisa, Kathleen, Jaclyn, Claude, Haruko, Katie and Gabe.
