Since 2007, the Faculty of Education's Summer Institute in Education (SIE) offers a series of credited seminars during the summer session at  UBC's Okanagan campus. Starting in 2011, SIE added a theme every year and developed 2- and 3-credit offerings.

SIE 2011: 21st Century Learning   SIE 2011 themed all the seminars and developed 2 and 3 credit offerings.	SIE 2010 SIE 2010 offered 36 seminars with emphasis on Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership and Administration	SIE 2009 Offering 25 seminars, SIE 2009 focused on Fine Arts in Education.
