Elementary Teacher Education Program (ETEP)

ClsrmfemaleEduc263

This two-year program has an annual intake in September and leads to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and certification by the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch to teach in the province of BC. There are two options for completing a B.Ed. degree in the Elementary Teacher Education Program:

  • Five-Year Bachelor of Education Degree Program
  • Two-Year Bachelor of Education Post-Degree Program

The ETEP is an innovative program offering a balance of content, conceptual studies, and practical experiences in the schools. The program provides a strong theoretical base and specialized methodological content with an emphasis on integration of knowledge. Students enjoy opportunities for choice of study and independent research in a Guided Reflective Inquiry Project (GRIP) that serves as a capstone for this degree program. Students will also complete their practice teaching in schools throughout the Okanagan region.
