Registration is the responsibility of the student. If a student meets promotion requirements, he or she is assigned a registration commencement date which is based on his/her year level and previous Winter Session GPA.
During the registration period, the School of Engineering Student Development Office may have to access and update or add courses for those students who have difficulty in registering (i.e. students who do not meet course prerequisites or if a course/section is full).
Any student attempting to register for a course that is not in his/her program must contact the School of Engineering Student Development Office. Additionally, students with advising blocks or registration difficulties with courses will need to contact the School of Engineering Student Development Office.
Up to the deadline provided in the Calendar (there are actually two deadlines, one for withdrawing from a course and the other for dropping a course with no record of the course appearing on the student's transcript) a student may withdraw from or drop a course by himself /herself. A student must apply through the School of Engineering Student Development Office for any course withdrawal or drop after the appropriate deadline.
The School of Engineering Student Development Office will meet with the student to address the late course withdrawal and identify any underlying reasons why the student is seeking a late withdrawal. During this time the student may be referred to resources available to help them deal with issues affecting their academic performance. Typically, an interview, a duly signed form (Registration/Change of Registration Form) and appropriate documentation are required before a late withdrawal or drop is allowed.
