The structural engineering group is undertaking research projects, headed by Dr. Ahmad Rteil and
Dr. Solomon Tesfamariam, in the analysis, design, and condition evaluation and retrofitting of new and existing civil infrastructure systems. Current research projects are:
Risk Analysis for Civil Infrastructure Systems
Maintaining and Rehabilitating Aging Infrastructure
Design and Analysis of Durable and Sustainable Structures
The courses listed below are suggested for students interested in the structural engineering option but students may select courses from any 3rd, or 4th year undergraduate (maximum of 6 credits) or graduate level courses at UBC Okanagan or UBC Vancouver with the approval of the supervisor and graduate chair.
