Graduate Applications for September 2012 are now closed, except for the Master of Social Work two year program and the Master degree programs in Education (MA and M.Ed).

HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: General Application

All applicants to the College of Graduate Studies are required to complete and submit the General Application form. (It is recommended that Mac users access the "Print Only" application.) We recommend that you submit your general application PRIOR to submitting other documents. Please note that it is NOT necessary to submit all your documents at the same time.

If you are unable to submit the document online, please print it out and fax it to our office at 250.807.8799.

Step 2: Supplemental Application & Documentation

After reviewing the application requirements on your program’s website, complete and submit the applicable Supplemental Application. Some programs require documentation or materials in addition to the supplemental application, such as a CV or portfolio. It is your responsibility to ensure your application is complete.

If you are unable to submit the document online, please print it out and fax it to our office at 250.807.8799.

Step 3: Student Information Service Centre (SISC) & Application Fee Payment

Once your General Application and Supplemental Application have been submitted, our office will contact you by email (usually within one week - delays may occur in the period January 15th to February 15th) with information on how to create a Campus Wide Login (CWL). You will use your CWL to access the Student Information Service Centre to pay your application fee. You may pay by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Credit Card. Please do not send a cheque.

Application Fee for Domestic students: $91.80
Application Fee for International students: $153.00

Step 4: Transcripts

Request one transcript from all post-secondary institutions you attended to be sent to UBC Okanagan Graduate Studies. Please use the address below. DO NOT send your transcripts to UBC Vancouver (We are unable to retrieve transcripts sent to Vancouver.)

Current UBC (Vancouver or Okanagan) students and alumni of UBC (Vancouver or Okanagan) do not need to submit UBC transcripts.  

Step 5: References

Applicants to thesis-based programs are required to submit three academic references. Applicants to professional programs are required to submit three references, with at least one academic reference and a maximum of two professional references.  The Nursing program requires four references. You should provide your referees with a link to the appropriate online form or a printed copy of the form. Reference forms can be found here. Please follow up with your referees to ensure that your references have been submitted.

Step 6: Test Scores

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE SUBMITTED A GRE TEST SCORE AND ARE NOT APPLYING TO THE PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM, PLEASE EMAIL OUR OFFICE AT THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:  gradadmin.ubco@ubc.ca.

If required for your application, arrange to have official copies of your TOEFL, GRE, or other test scores sent UBC Okanagan Graduate Studies.  (Please note that Biology accepts only TOEFL scores for the English language requirement.)

NEW - UBC Okanagan Institutional Codes:
The institutional code for TOEFL scores is 2499.
The institutional code for GRE scores is 0815.
