The Ceremonies Office is looking for volunteers to help make the UBC Okanagan Convocation Ceremonies a memorable occasion for our graduates and their families. Both faculty and staff members will be needed in various roles.

Ushers: Hand out programs and direct guests to their seats. This is a very important role and we will need a lot of volunteers to help out.
Marshals: Lead both the student and faculty processions. Traditionally marshals have come from the faculty members but staff are welcome.
Golf Cart Drivers: Drive VIP guests with special needs to and from the gym and Student Services Centre in a 6-seater golf cart.

Alumni are always welcome on our campus but there’s something especially poignant about having you here for convocation. To our graduating students, you are the future - just as, ironically, they are the same to you.
On June 7th, when you arrive on campus at your designated time, please go directly to the welcome table set up inside the Alumni tent in the courtyard. Someone friendly and helpful will direct you from there. You will have received prior confirmation of your specific role at graduation. Some of you will be pitching in with activities around the tent. Some will be involved in ceremonies and will need to be gowned and directed to your procession. The four main alumni volunteer roles are:
