Barbara Rutherford, PhD

UBC’s Okanagan campus
Dr. Barbara Rutherford is the acting dean of the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences. She holds a doctorate in psychology from the University of Auckland, and obtained an MSc in physical education from the University of Alberta. Her research focus is brain hemispheric interaction and reading competency. Dr. Rutherford has mentored and supervised award-winning students, and is the recipient of outstanding professor and service awards. Her research has been funded by NSERC, SSHRC, and other internal and external grants.
