How do I move a page?
ACM's Move Page feature allows you to move pages from one location to another within the same site.
To move a single page:
When you move a single page, all of the child pages are moved with it.
- If the page you want to move is published, open it in Full Edit mode.
- If the page is not published, open its parent page in Full Edit mode, go to the Child Pages tab and click on the page you want to move.
- In the Page Summary section, locate the Move Page field.
- Click on <<Select Page>>.
- Select the new parent page and click OK.
- When the page is redisplayed, submit the page for publication, or Emergency Publish the page.
Note: If the page you are moving is due for Review, you cannot move it. You must make sure the page is reviewed and then move it. If a page is due for review, it will display this status next to the page's Edit icon.
To move multiple pages simultaneously:
- Click the Full Edit icon on the parent page of the pages you wish to move.
- On the Child Pages tab, click the Select checkbox for each of the pages.
- Click Move and select the new parent page.
You will have to click OK on the Move window to complete the move.
- Submit the page for publication, or Emergency Publish the page.
If a page move has caused a change to the dynamically generated left-hand navigation, it is necessary to Emergency Publish the parent page, as well as the page you've moved. This will ensure that the left-hand navigation is updated on your live website.
