Templates:

  • contain layout, design, and formatting information
  • require a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and XML to customize
  • are already designed for you as part of the Core CMS Service
  • can be further customized on a per-project basis

All websites powered by the CMS gain access to our template package.  The package comes with a range of features including collection of standardized pages, direct access to UBC's Okanagan campus CLF Common Images and Icons, rotating images in top bar, emergency broadcast window, W3C compliance,a ccessibility keyboard shortcuts and CSS-based layout with 3 layout options.

Page Types:

  • control the functionality of the page you are creating
  • determine what options you have available to you when editing a particular page inside ACM
  • are pre-built into ACM and can not be customized

Together, the templates and page types give you the ability to:

  • Improve the usability of your website through automatic updates of navigation, page names, and breadcrumb trails
  • Create a sitemap that can be easily updated and customized
