Information CommonsThe Information Commons is located on the main floor of the UBCO Library. It contains 103 personal computers, and nine Macs, equipped with research and productivity software, such as Microsoft Office. The Information Commons is staffed by expert personnel who provide technical and research support to students. It is open during all Library opening hours.
The Information Commons Learning Lab is located in Room L111. It contains 26 student-use computers with the same hardware and software as the computers in the main area of the Information Commons, plus an instructor's workstation connected to a ceiling-mounted projector.
Two printers, three photocopiers and one scanner are available for student use. For instructions on double sided printing and other green printing tips, see our Green Printing Guide.
New Pay for Print System: There is a new one-stop solution to adding money to your pay-for-print account. Located in the photocopier room, the new station allows you to login to your account and add money directly (coins and bills). You will no longer need to add money to your card in the lobby and then go to a login station - it has all been consolidated into one station. If you still have money on your student card we suggest you transfer the money off of it soon, the old stations will be removed later in the Fall (2010).
Fees for printing and photocopying: 7 cents per page (b/w) or 29 cents per page (colour).
