Wesley Pue, a distinguished scholar with a diverse background and a broad range of international academic and administrative experience, is the Provost and Vice Principal of the University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus. "We are pleased to welcome someone of Dr. Pue's caliber to this key position at our Okanagan campus," says Doug Owram, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal. "Dr. Pue brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience, international teaching and administrative skills, all of which will be of great benefit as we continue to guide our UBC campus into the future."
Dr. Pue was educated in the United Kingdom and Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and in Law at Oxford University, a Master of Laws (LL.M) in the field of administrative law from the University of Alberta, and PhD in social history of the legal profession from York University.
He taught for six years in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Carleton University and also held full-time teaching appointments at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, Oklahoma City University, and the University of Manitoba, where he served as Johnson Professor of Legal History and Director of the Canadian Legal History Project. Pue has also held visiting positions in Social Sciences, Law and British Studies at the University of London/Inner Temple, La Trobe University, the University of Adelaide and Murdoch University.
Most recently, Dr. Pue held the positions of Vice Provost and Associate Vice President Academic Resources and Vice Provost and Associate Vice President Academic Facilities and Enrolment at UBC's Vancouver campus. Pue joined UBC's Faculty of Law in 1993 as the first incumbent in the Nathan T. Nemetz Professorship of Legal History. He also served in the positions of Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and acting Director of the Individual Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program at UBC.

The Provost & Vice Principal's role is to provide leadership and direction in the areas of planning, policy development and resource management. His responsibilities also encompass the Okanagan campus' Academic and Research mandates, whereby all Deans report directly to the Provost and the Office of Research Services operates under his direction.
