Welcome to the UBC Okanagan Recreation Facility
UBC Okanagan's recreation facility is the home of the Heat. This state-of-the-art facility opened in 1994 and is one of the finest in the province. The facility has been the venue for many provincial, national and international events.
Facility Features
- 16,800 square feet (1560 sq. metres) of gym floor space (room for four courts of volleyball or two courts of basketball or 10 courts of Badminton)
- Indirect lighting and 40 feet (12 metre) clear height to the ceiling
- 862 theatre-style bleacher seats
- Indoor walking/running track
- Weight room offering circuit machines, Free Motion and Nautilus cables, and free weights (weightroom renovaed Fall 2008!)
- Cardio Equipment: six treadmills, two ellipticals, one stair climber, one stepmill, four Concept II Rowers, and two recumbent bikes
- An outdoor, lit, artificial field
- An outdoor, lit, multi-sport court
