Applying

2012/13 Academic Year

Complete the following steps by the application deadline:

Step 1:

Submit your application.

Log into Gateway and complete your online application.
     - For your Experience Selection, please choose the UniWide option for all your choices.
     - Select the UBC term you wish to apply for. Note: Split Year is only available to a few schools. Please    check what terms are offered on the partner page.
     - In Gateway you will be asked to also submit supporting documents. Please refer below for the complete list.

Step 2: Pay the Go Global fee ($377) on the Student Service Centre (SSC) by the appropriate deadline (noted below). Please note the fee will not be invoiced until after the deadline has passed.
Step 3:

Complete and submit supporting documents by the application deadline.

Note: Nothing needs to be turned into the Go Global Office in hard copy. Please submit all supporting documents in the online application.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Supporting documents Required for
Proposed Study Plan (61KB DOC) All students
Interim Grade Form (417KB PDF) Students currently taking full-year courses at UBC (6 credit courses, running September to April)
Language Proficiency Assessment (418KB PDF) Students planning to take any courses taught in a foreign language at the partner university (excluding language courses)
Chinese Courses Interview Questionnaire (12 KB PDF) Students doing coursework in any Chinese dialect for UBC CHIN transfer credit
Canadian Field Studies in Africa Form (364KB PDF) Students applying for the Canadian Field Studies in Africa program (please make sure to select McGill in the online application form)
Graduate Student Authorization Form (89.5KB DOC) GRADUATE STUDENTS

Please note: Graduate students must have the support of their graduate program advisor and their supervisor.

Go Global Fee

The $377 Go Global fee must be submitted on the Student Service Centre (SSC). The 2012/2013 fee payment schedule is listed below.For information on fee refunds, please refer to the Fee Refund Policy

What's next?

Your application result will be emailed to you approximately four to six weeks after the application deadline.

If your application has been accepted, you will receive information about the necessary next steps. This is a good time to make sure you have a valid passport.

Interviews lasting 15 to 20 minutes may be required for high-demand partner universities only. Demand is determined once all applications have been received. If you will be required to interview, you will be contacted by email shortly after the application deadline.
