Additional services

Education and consultation for faculty and staff

In addition to providing direct assistance to students, counsellors are available to provide educational and consultation services to other members of the university community. Such services could include workshops, presentations, and individual consultations in areas such as mental health issues, disruptive student behavior, risk-of-harm situations, and conflicts in interactions with students.

Referrals

At times, you may need to see a counsellor for referrals to other university and community services. Counsellors can provide you with information about different services in the community and help you get appointments at these other agencies.

Practicum and internship placements

UBC Okanagan Counselling offers practicum placements for graduate students pursuing counselling or other clinical practice careers (e.g., social work, psychology). Graduate students interested in completing a practicum with UBC Okanagan Counselling should contact the Health & Wellness Centre (placements for graduate students only).
