Group Counselling

In group counselling, students work together to address shared problems, develop skills, and become more confident, healthy, and successful in their studies.

Groups are offered throughout the academic year and are advertised by posters, email announcements, and on the counselling website.

Group counselling topics vary each year. They are determined by student and university community interests and needs. Some topics that are often covered in group counselling are:

  • communication skills
  • student rights, responsibilities, and self-advocacy
  • conflict management and resolution
  • stress and time management
  • anger management
  • transition to university
  • diversity awareness/support
  • substance use
