Currently UBC Okanagan has two full time counsellors and one part time counsellor. All counsellors have graduate degrees in a variety of disciplines. The counsellors offer personal and group counselling sessions and workshops. They provide scheduled appointments and can respond to emergency situations promptly. Personal counselling can help you improve your life and deal with issues that are creating problems for you at university. Group counselling can help students work together to address shared problems, develop skills, and become more confident, healthy, and successful in their studies.
Currently UBC Okanagan has one part time drug and alcohol counsellor from Kelowna Alcohol & Drug Services.
Psychiatric consultation is available through the Counselling Service to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for students suffering from mental and emotional distress.
