An auditor is a student registered in a credit course whose participation is limited to that deemed appropriate by the instructor. Generally they are expected to complete all course requirements except the final exam and may be given fail (F) standing if their performance is not satisfactory.
A statement of "audit" will appear on a student's permanent academic record for any course taken as an auditor.
An auditor may not transfer to the category of regular student during the term, nor may a regular student transfer to the category of auditor, except upon recommendation of the dean of the faculty concerned.
For general information about applying and program options, please visit the Prospective Students site for UBC's Okanagan campus.
For more information on auditing, see Classification of Students in the UBC Okanagan Calendar. Please see the Calendar's Fees section for fees information for auditors.
For Canadian students, detailed fee information can be found in section 4, under III. Fees in the Calendar.
For International students, detailed fee information can be found in section 5, under III. Fees in the UBC Okanagan Calendar.
