Sustainable Campus
UBC's Okanagan campus aspires to build and demonstrate a sustainable campus that reflects a balance in its environmental, economic, and socially responsible values across campus operations, teaching, learning, and research.
The Okanagan campus supports a population of over 6,200 FTE students, as well as an increasing number of faculty and staff. Operations currently expand over 110,000 m² of building space. Measures to advance the campus towards carbon neutrality include managing aspects of energy and waste reduction, transportation, and resource conservation.
To assist in managing these systems, the campus is taking action in the following areas:
Climate, Energy & Environment
Includes actions the Okanagan campus has taken to minimize its GHG emissions including reporting, energy management initiatives, and renewable energy projects.
