Dr. Binfet is a former teacher and school counsellor and carries forward his interest in helping others in the work he does at UBC Okanagan. He is the Director of the Building Academic Retention through K9’s (B.A.R.K.) program that brings forty-five therapy dogs to campus, including his dog, Frances, a rescue from Los Angeles who helped start the B.A.R.K. program.
